I write to apply for the position of translation intern at your company.
As I am currently in the third year of my B.A. in Translation, I believe I possess valuable skills to contribute to the advancement of your company's work. Indeed, as a bilingual student, studying in Montréal provides me with unique exposure to two cohabiting languages on a daily basis: English and French. I witness how they interact and how they are used in both provincial and federal documents. I could bring a new perspective to your translation team thanks to my awareness of language interactions in translation that comes from completing a translation degree in a bilingual environment such as Montréal.
Furthermore, having just completed two internships as a translator in a Montréal-based and Québec City-based company, I have field-tested skills to bring to the table. Having translated a variety of texts in diverse fields such as law, communications, marketing, and advertising throughout the internships, I feel I am very well prepared for any type of work that may be required. I have worked with a wide range of software, clients, restrictions, deadlines and specific requests I have adapted to. I can thus offer a lot of flexibility when it comes to workflow and the types of texts to be translated.
I am confident that my experience and skills qualify me for an internship with your company. I can also provide you with samples of my translations upon request. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing my qualifications in more detail.
